From coding to art: the DSI Minor / LAO Digital Skills

Acquiring digital competencies without a technical background: the DSI Minor / LAO Digital Skills is open to Master's students from every discipline. The third impact of our anniversary series presents a study program that crosses boundaries.

Autor: DSI Communications

Digital transformation stops at no discipline. The DSI Minor / LAO Digital Skills draws an unusual conclusion from that: it opens digital competencies to all Master's students at UZH and asks for no prior knowledge. Across 30 ECTS, they learn to code and build up knowledge on topics such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. At the same time, they learn to place these skills in context – because ethics, law and social responsibility are an integral part of the curriculum.

Everyone sets their own focus, according to their interests and background. What they share is the practice: over two semesters, interdisciplinary teams work on a real challenge of digital transformation – together with researchers and practitioners.

To the impact: DSI Minor / LAO Digital Skills

The DSI Minor / LAO Digital Skills is the third of ten impacts in the DSI's anniversary series «Decade of Impact».
