Disinformation, cybersecurity, health records: DSI members advise the federal policymakers
Expertise from the Digital Society Initiative (DSI) is in demand: ten DSI members serve on two advisory bodies of the Swiss federal government.
The Swiss National Science Advice Network gives authorities rapid access to independent expertise on new types of threats and systemic risks. DSI members sit on the steering committees of three of its four clusters:
- Disinformation: Mark Eisenegger and Anna Jobin co-chair the committee, and DSI professor Karsten Donnay is also a member. That means three of its five members come from the DSI. Four more DSI members also contribute to the cluster: Emma Hoes, Sabrina Heike Kessler, Florent Thouvenin and Meg Jing Zeng.
- Cybersecurity: Markus Christen, Managing Director of the DSI
- Public Health: DSI member Milo Puhan
In addition, Claudia Witt, Co-Director of the DSI, sits on the five-member advisory board (press release in German) that has been supporting the electronic health record (E-GD) since September 1, 2026. It is developing a practice-oriented vision for the E-GD and independently advises the Federal Department of Home Affairs on its technical implementation.
