One DSI and three more UZH projects receive DIZH funding
In its 2nd Outreach Call, DIZH is funding eight projects that bring digital research into society. Among them is the DigitalForum of the Digital Society Initiative (DSI) as well as three further projects involving the University of Zurich. Each project receives up to CHF 50'000.
With the DigitalForum, the DSI is building a platform that brings research findings from Zurich's universities into politics and public administration. Webinars and a «Digitale Landsgemeinde» will engage municipalities, cantonal administrative units and the Cantonal Parliament, strengthening the dialogue between academia and the public sector. The project is led by DSI Co-Director Claudia Witt.
The Digitalization Initiative of the Zurich Higher Education Institutions (DIZH) selected the DigitalForum as one of eight projects from 21 proposals in its 2nd Outreach Call. All funded projects make digital innovations visible and promote knowledge transfer between universities and society. The universities contribute equally to the funding through matching funds; project durations are up to 18 months. In addition to the DigitalForum, three further projects with UZH involvement were selected:
- «Remember. Understand. Envision. Historical pandemics in collective memory» with Prof. Dr. Kaspar Staub, UZH Institute of Evolutionary Medicine
- «From AI literacy to digital resilience: empowering young people in the digital transformation» with Dr. Sabrina Heike Kessler, UZH Institute of Communication and Media Research
- «Swiss NLP Expo 2027» with Dr. Jannis Vamvas, UZH Institute of Computational Linguistics. UZH participates in this project as an academic partner.
Information on all funded projects of the 2nd DIZH Outreach Call can be found in the DIZH announcement.
