Citizen Science Summer School 2026: Co-Creating Knowledge
For the fifth time, Citizen Science Zurich, a partner organization of the DSI, is organizing the Citizen Science Summer School. The school brings together young researchers, practitioners, and citizen scientists to explore participatory research approaches.
The Citizen Science Summer School 2026 will take place in Zurich from June 7 to 12, 2026, offering an intensive program on the theory and practice of citizen science. Participants will explore methods for collaborative knowledge generation, reflect on different forms of expertise, and develop skills for designing and implementing participatory research projects.
Citizen science plays an important role in addressing societal challenges by actively involving non-academic actors in the research process. The Summer School provides a space for interdisciplinary exchange and supports participants in integrating participatory approaches into their own research and practice.
The target groups of the Summer School are master's students, doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, practitioners, and citizen scientists.
The application deadline is February 15, 2026.
