DigitalTransfer: Free Access to Digital Knowledge
The Digital Society Initiative (DSI) at the University of Zurich is launching DigitalTransfer. The new platform (mainly in German) brings together video content from teaching and research and makes basic digital knowledge accessible to everyone – regardless of prior knowledge or field of study.
Digital technologies are shaping the way people work, communicate, and make decisions. For many, the mechanisms behind these technologies remain invisible. DigitalTransfer makes this knowledge accessible.
The content is organized into six topic areas. «Basiswissen» explains how digitalization works – from bits and bytes to the fundamental principles of the digital world. «Daten» covers digital data, data management, and data integration. «KI & Algorithmen» focuses on computational thinking, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. «Interaktive Systeme» teaches the basics of programming and shows how digital systems are designed. «Medien & Gesellschaft» explores how digital media, social networks, and ethics shape society. «Recht» explains the legal rules that apply to data – from copyright to data protection.
Each video can be explored on its own, either as an introduction or for further study.
