Welcome, Esra
We are pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Esra Suel as DSI Professor. Esra is Professor of Urban Analytics at the Department of Geography at the University of Zurich, where she is establishing a new research group within the GIScience Center.
Esra Suel took up her post as Professor of Urban Analytics on March 1, 2025. She was appointed Associate Professor of Urban Modeling at University College London in 2024. Her recent research has focused on issues of transportation and energy transition, urban change and their relationship with socio-economic and health inequalities. Esra's new research group at the Department of Geography will focus on computational methods for studying urban systems, drawing on both traditional and big data sources.
With her expertise, Esra is an ideal addition to the team of DSI Professors. We wish her all the best for her new position and look forward to working with her.
