Research Assistant (30–40 %) for Project «ZuReach»

The Digital Society Initiative at the University of Zurich is seeking a Research Assistant starting in March 2026 for the participatory research project «ZuReach: Zurich Urban Reachability & Accessibility Enhancement through Digital Technology».

The DIZH-funded project «ZuReach» examines urban accessibility in Zurich and potentially Winterthur for people with mobility impairments. Using web-based digital tools, the project collects data on pedestrian infrastructure such as surfaces, curbs, and crossings to support more personalized and barrier-free access to urban destinations.

ZuReach builds on the projects «ZuriACT: Zurich Accessible CiTy» and «SISAL» and is led by Dr. Hoda Allahbakhshi. The Digital Society Initiative is recruiting a Research Assistant (30–40%) for a fixed-term position of up to eight months. The role involves supporting data collection, preparing bilingual materials, and assisting with data validation and analysis. A relevant bachelor’s degree and excellent German and English skills are required.
