ERC Consolidator Grants for two DSI members
DSI Professor Luis Aguiar and DSI member Debjani Bhattacharyya have been awarded Consolidator Grants by the European Research Council (ERC). The DSI warmly congratulates both of them.
The Digital Society Initiative (DSI) of the University of Zurich is pleased to congratulate two of its members who have successfully secured Consolidator Grants from the European Research Council (ERC):
-
DSI Professor Luis Aguiar has been awarded a Consolidator Grant for his project «Copyright and creative markets in the digital age», which investigates how copyright protection shapes the creation and reuse of music, movies, books and news.
-
DSI member Debjani Bhattacharyya receives a Consolidator Grant for her project «Fair-weather finance – historical antecedents to climate risk management», which explores why market-based tools – such as carbon trading, weather derivatives, parametric insurance, and catastrophe bonds – have become central to managing climate risk.
Aimed at researchers seven to twelve years after their PhD, the grants support ambitious research projects and enable grantees to build or strengthen their research teams and consolidate their independent careers. In total, nine UZH researchers were awarded Consolidator Grants.
The DSI congratulates the researchers and wishes them every success with their projects.
