On October 22, 2025, the annual General Meeting of the Digital Society Initiative (DSI) took place at the University of Zurich (UZH). After a brief welcome by Managing Director Markus Christen, Ruben Kranendonk presented the new UZH.ai project. A small central team coordinates the visibility, networking, and identity of AI activities at UZ and acts as an interface within the community.
In the official part of the meeting that followed, DSI Director Abraham Bernstein addressed key points from the past year, and the revised DSI Roadmap 2026–27 (PDF, 153 KB) was adopted in plenary. In the subsequent membership election, the DSI reached another milestone: the network now has over 1400 members.
The concluding reception gave participants the opportunity to exchange ideas and flowed smoothly into the event «Data Technologies for the Humanities and Social Sciences». This event provided insights into UZH technology platforms that are becoming increasingly important for research in the social sciences and humanities.
