For whom are we actually developing applications with artificial intelligence (AI)? While numerous companies and universities are integrating generative AI into new applications, they are mostly focusing on the majority of users. But if you really want to create innovative solutions, you should take a different approach and start with disadvantaged user groups.

Dr. Oriane Pierrès is an interdisciplinary postdoctoral researcher at the Digital Society Initiative (DSI) at the University of Zurich (UZH). She specializes in AI and accessibility, UX research, and educational technology in higher education. Her research accompanies the development of AI Buddy, an AI chatbot that will guide UZH students throughout their studies.
