The first public event of the DSI focused on a controversial topic: The effect of digitalization in the military domain – symbolized by the character of the “Terminator”.
On Wednesday night, approximately 250 people came to follow the presentation of the renowned robotics scientist Ron Arkin and the comments of Heather Roff and Abraham Bernstein. In his presentation, Arkin dealt with the question whether the creation of lethal autonomous systems is ethically justified for certain applications.
