Women in Big Data

Across the globe, women account for less than one-third of those employed in scientific research and development. Moreover, women are less likely to enter and more likely to leave tech-intensive business roles.

The Women in Big Data Project advocates the importance of an open and broad discussion on building, advancing, and maintaining careers for women in Big Data fields. The mission is to organize activities to promote women in Big Data research with a dual focus on social and technical sciences within the framework of NRP 75.

WiBD's themes and objective are the following: promote careers, technical excellence, interdisciplinary exchange, organize a series of activities, help women build a network and become a reference point.
