Joshua Weidlich, Prof. Dr.

Prof. Dr. Joshua Weidlich is the DIZH Bridge Professor for Digital Higher Education at the University of Zurich, in collaboration with the Zurich University of Teacher Education. His research explores how digital technologies and artificial intelligence are reshaping teaching, learning, and assessment in higher education. His work brings together research on feedback, feedback literacy, learning analytics, and AI-enhanced learning environments. He is particularly interested in how higher education can design feedback practices that remain meaningful, trustworthy, and supportive of student learning in the age of generative AI.

Prior to joining the University of Zurich, Joshua Weidlich conducted research and taught at the DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education. He earned his PhD in Educational Technology from FernUniversität in Hagen, where he studied social presence in online learning and received the Early Career Award for Outstanding Dissertation from the German Society for Higher Education Teaching.
