Prof. Kozbur researches techniques and ideas for integrating economic theory and machine learning tools. His research has resulted in new methods for estimation with many weak instruments, methods for estimation in high-dimensional panel models, analysis of iterative high-dimensional estimation techniques like forward regression, and uses of clustering techniques for statistical inference with economic data. These techniques help discover new insights about economic phenomena using modern computational power and data abundance. Applications include learning properties of supply and demand curves of complicated markets, or learning cause and effect between relevant economic variables in data environments with many confounding factors. His work appears in scientific outlets including «Econometrica, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Journal of Econometrics, Review of Economics and Statistics».
