Yoan’s research explores how behavioural science, economics, and artificial intelligence can shape legal systems and help address societal challenges. Using empirical, experimental, and computational methods, he investigates the interaction between humans and algorithmic decision-making, the design of fair allocation mechanisms, and the role of AI and large language models in legal reasoning.
A central focus of his work examines how people perceive algorithmic decisions in high-stakes legal contexts – including the «fairness gap» between human and AI-led procedures. His interdisciplinary research combines legal scholarship with insights from economics, psychology, and computer science to better understand how digital technologies influence institutions, regulation, and society.
