Marc Walder, born in 1965, took over as CEO of Ringier AG in April 2012 as Chairman of the Group Executive Board. In addition to this activity, Walder holds various other positions. Among other things, he serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Scout24 Schweiz AG and as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of JobCloud AG. He began his career at Ringier in 1991 after eight years as a tennis professional on the ATP tour. After attending the Ringier School of Journalism, Walder moved to the Blick Group, where he was Deputy Editor-in-Chief of SonntagsBlick and Sports Director of the Blick Group. In 2000, he was appointed editor-in-chief of the largest Swiss magazine Schweizer Illustrierte, which he successfully ran for seven years. From 2007 Walder was editor-in-chief of SonntagsBlick and also took over the editorial management of the Blick Group. Marc Walder has been CEO of Ringier Switzerland and Germany and a member of the Ringier Executive Board since September 2008. Since then, Ringier AG has been consistently diversified and digitized under Walder: Ringier invested heavily in the two areas of digital business and entertainment. In 2008, Walder completed the Advanced Executive Management Program at Harvard Business School in Boston. He is the founder of the location initiative digitalswitzerland, in which more than 100 of the largest Swiss companies are involved in the digital economic development and digital transformation of the country. Walder is married, father of two daughters and lives near Zurich.
